West Lake Hills is a city in Travis County, Texas, United States. The population was 3,116 at the 2000 census, and 3,021 in the 2005 census estimate. The city of West lake Hills is a relatively wealthy suburb of Austin, located on the west side of Austin on the edge of the Hill Country. The city developed rapidly in the 1970s and 1980s with many sprawling luxury homes set in the hills on the south side of the Colorado River.

West Lake Hills is the only city completely within the Eanes Independent School District. The Eanes ISD is one of the top districts within Texas and has won many awards for excellence in education over many years. In addition to the area’s public school district, several private schools are also situated in or close to the city limits, including  St. Stephens Episcopal School, one of the most acclaimed college preparatory schools in the state.

Westlake Hills and the surrounding communities serviced by Eanes ISD is ideally situated. Approximently 6 miles from Downtown Austin and 14 Miles from Austin’s Bergstrom International Airport it is an easy commute to its residents. There are several communities, each with their own personalities for new comers to look at.
